IT'S OFFICIALLY SUMMER

that's right folks, it's HERE!!!!
it is summer. i was talking to brit yesterday about how we haven't been so excited for a summer break since we were preteens. i practically made a days-left-until-summer paper chain. the anticipation was bad. and now i am giddy.

summer means: inappropriate attire, 'bronzed bodies' -heh miss L, slurpees and popsicles, bike butts, water, black feet, library books, swimming suits, makeup-free faces, basically all things good in life.
this summer means: plants, sports (jump rope is included), money in the piggy-bank, photographs, games, break-it-down-and-get-crazy dance parties, netflix, farmers markets, facebook fasts..
it's gonna be good.
it already is good.
i'll tell you why it's been a good start because you won't know. you are all gone.
yeah peeps, all of you.
i went for a jog (what's the legal walk to jog ratio that qualifies 'a jog?'), forgot to jimmy the doorknob before entering (danga), rode L's bike to the library (riding a bike again is just like riding a bike again), got a provo library card (!), checked out books (coolest self-checkout ever. no scanning. just place a stack of 2-4 books on the surface and it can tell which ones you picked and checks them out. i was technology-wowed.), rode to smith's (unscathed), bought dishwasher detergent (the cheapest kind), successfully re-crossed the 3-thousand-lb-machine packed street (the honda next to me chickened out and turned right!! ...i waited for the red light of courage to cross me safely), and did it all with one of those sturdy reusable bags (look at me.. saving the ozone layer.).

i cried a total of three times yesterday.
and once today. while watching A Baby Story. i've never seen a whole episode. and i wasn't even watching it that closely. and i didn't even realize i was tearing. i was too busy being bewildered that when they put that gunky baby on mom she started kissing it despite the disgusting fluids and clumps all over it. i was thinking, 'it's so true. only a mother can love something that gives me the heebie-jeebies.' and my face was wet. mom was crying. and i was crying. and it was disgusting.
